1. How much coverage will one US gallon (approximately 3.78 L) provide?
1. One gallon should cover approximately 80-100 sq. ft.

2. How thick do I need to apply it?
2. Approximately twice as thick as the layer(s) of paint that you
wish to remove. If you are applying it to a painted brick surface
you may have to apply it up to 40 mils due to the porosity of the
brick. We also suggest that you test it on a small area (that is
not very noticeable) initially, to see if it strips the paint off
to your satisfaction at your current temperature and moisture/humidity
conditions. The warmer the temperature and drier the surface of
the brick or substrate is the more effective the stripping process.

3. What if there are multiple layers of paint to strip off. Do I
have to apply the product more than once?
3. One application will be sufficient as long as it is 2 times the
thickness of all the paint layers. You may just have to leave it
on a bit longer to ensure penetration into the substrate.
Top
4. If the paint layers are 2 mil thick then I put 4 mils of stripper
on it?
4. Correct.
Top
5. How long does the stripper need to work?
5. Anywhere between 1 hr to 6 hrs for most instances where temperatures
are warm (77F/25C). However, if temperatures are cold it could be
left on for up to 3-4 days to lift the paint off the substrate.
Top
6. What is the ideal temperature for application?
6. We recommend 77F/25C or above. I does work in colder (60F/15.56C)
temperatures but you may have to leave it on for 2 or 3 days before
you get the same effects.
Top
7. What if the temperature is well below 77F/25C?
7. We have one marine stripping company who uses the EFS-2500 stripper
to remove anti-fouling marine paint off the hulls of boats and they
have successfully removed paint off boats in 41F/5C degree conditions.
They just applied the product and left it on for 3 days so the stripper
could work through the paint down to the substrate. The paint bubbled/separated
from the substrate and was brushed & wiped off
afterwards.

8. It doesn't smell very strong?
8. Yes, it has a fairly mild smell, it is not a caustic type of
paint stripper. It works very differently from other paint strippers,
as the stripper works through the paint's pinholes via osmosis and
separates the bond between the substrate and the paint. It will
bubble off in sheets (the bubble appearance is due to air being
trapped between the substrate and underside of the paint surface)
it is not an active bubbling or boiling action.
Top
9. If the smell is not strong, do I need to ventilate the room?
9. Yes, ventilation is still very important as you don't want be
exposed to the fumes from the stripper for too long.
Top
10. Does the removed/stripped paint leech or melt when I try to
collect it for disposal?
10. The paint sheets stays solid and doesn't dissolve/disintegrate
when you touch it.
Top
11. How should I dispose of the paint?
11. As we produce an environmentally friendly product company we
ask that you treat all paint stripped or removed as a hazardous
waste and to dispose of the waste according to your local and national
standards or better.
Top
12. What is the shelf life of the product?
12. Approximately 5 years (sealed and unopened).
Top
13. If product is opened, used (applied) and then resealed what
is the shelf life for the remaining product?
13. It depends on how long the product is exposed to air, if it
is just an hour or two it has no significant affect on the shelf
life. If it is left open for weeks, the shelf life will dramatically
be reduced.
Top
14. How do you apply it on?
14. You can brush it on, roll it on or use an airless spray gun.
A teflon or stainless steel undercoat spray gun used for anti-fouling
paints in the marine industry works well.
Top
15. What if I leave something in the container of EFS-2500 paint
stripper?
15. It can cause a serious reaction so make sure that you don't
contaminate the product with anything.
READ AS: NO foreign matter is to be mixed or left in the EFS-2500
paint stripper as it can react with plastics, metals, brushes, etc.
Top
16. How is the stripper neutralized?
16. Water and air will neutralize the stripper.
Top
17. What if I am applying the stripper outside?
17. Please ensure that rain or water doesn't contact the stripper
until you the paint is ready to be removed as water neutralizes
the stripper.
Top
18. Will it remove clear coat paint and moss on wood?
18. Yes, see Slideshow
#3 Hoodsport WA restoration of a wood house.
Top
19. Will it remove paint on brick?
19. Yes, see Slideshow
#5 Calgary Alberta Building Restoration. We also recommend a
pressure washer to assist in removing the paint that is trapped
in the pores, cracks and ridges that occur on brick surfaces after
the EFS-2500 paint stripper is applied. The porosity of the brick
will determine the effectiveness of the stripping process.
Top
20. Will it remove paint on metals?
20. Yes, see Slideshow
#6 Aircraft and Helicopter paint stripping.
Top
21. Will it remove marine paint?
21. Yes, we have Marine stripping and auto stripping companies using
the product.
Top
22. How much will be required to strip the paint off a car?
22. Approximately 3 to 4 gallons.
Top
23. Will it remove anti-fouling paints?
23. Yes, we have Marine stripping companies using the product.
Top
24. Will it remove Chemical resistant paint on Light Armoured Vehicles?
24. Yes, we have a contractor currently using the product for such
a military application.
Top
25. Will it remove urethane paints on aircraft and helicopters?
25. Yes, the product passes Boeing tests and for evidence of effectiveness
please see Slideshow
#6.
Top
26. How much of your product will be required to strip the fuselage
of a Cessna?
26. If you spray it on you will need 2 x 5 gallon pails (10 gallons),
if you brush it on you may need a bit more.
Top
27. Will it remove ProSeal?
27. Yes, it is used by some of our commercial users to remove ProSeal.
