2. Where To Use
Molecular 2000 is designed for high performance and corrosion protection,
on metal surfaces, and is ideally suited for protecting concrete surfaces.
Particularly floors. This coating is highly suitable for use in food
and beverage facilities, schools, hospitals, factories, warehouses,
etc., wherever durability and low solvent odor are important considerations.
For best results on uncoated wood, concrete wall, floor and ceilings,
use P2020 one component epoxy primer.
3. Surface Preparation
In order to realize maximum product performance, proper and
thorough surface preparation is necessary. This is particularly
important in aggressive industrial or high corrosion environments.
The surface to be coated must be clean and free of rust, dirt, oil,
grease, laitance, form release agents or any other surface contaminates
that could interfere with adhesion. Prepare surface by sandblasting
mechanical abrasion, or acid etching and sanding. Remove water and
dust from all surfaces with and oil-free blast immediately before
the application.
4. Application
Molecular 2000 can be applied by brush, roller, and airless or conventional
spray at up to 420 square feet per Kit base on 10 mil thick. Stir
component 'A' thoroughly, then mix with component 'B' in a 2:1 ratio.
928 series mixture thoroughly and allow a 5-10 minute induction
time before application. Never mix more Epoxy then you can use in
45-min pot life. For brush application, use a quality synthetic
filament brush. For rolling, use a short nap lid free. Amine adducts
fully cures in 7 days, dries to touch overnight. May be recoated
with in 12 hours. If more than 24 hours elapses between recoats,
the previous coating will need to be sanded before applying additional
coats.
